Did we mention that this chicken recipe tastes like a million bucks? Well, that is the reason for the name! It is nothing but, rich, creamy, down-right comfy home food that everyone loves! And, although it tastes like a Million Dollars, it is a frugal recipe! In fact, I can feed my whole family on less than one chicken breast with this super entree! Plus it uses our SOS mix, which means it is that much more frugal.
Also, our family loves this dinner treat and loves to make it. It’s fun to make and it is so easy to make that even our 6-year old can make it without much needed supervision. She helps me make it all the time. I make the sauce and put it in the oven and take it out, but she stuffs and rolls the rolls and dips in the coating. It’s one of her favorite things to make and eat!
Are you ready to learnhow to make Million Dollar Chicken Rolls?

Ingredients needed forMillion Dollar Chicken Rolls:
For the rolls:
- 1 8-oz package of cream cheese (softened to room temp by leaving it on the counter for 30 mins – you can also rub vigorously on the outside of the packaging to help soften it up)
- 1 chicken breast or about 1.5 cups of cooked chicken
- 1/3 cup of sliced green onions
- 1/2 tsp. of pepper
- 1/4 tsp. of paprika
- 1/3 cup of sour cream
- 2 packages of crescent rolls (big and flaky work best)
- 4 TBSP melted butter
- 2 Cups Crushed Corn Flakes
For the Gravy:
- 1 and 1/4 cup of SOS mix (Recipe for this very versatile, used all over the kitchen SOS mix recipe is HERE)
- 1 cup of milk or 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1 can of mushrooms or 8 oz of fresh sliced mushrooms
- *if you want a sauce substitute – you can also use a can of cream of chicken or mushroom soup with about 1/2 can of milk instead – but SOS is awesome!)
How to Make Million Dollar Chicken Rolls
- In a mixing bowl or a mixer, combine the cream cheese, chicken, onion, sour cream, paprika and pepper to the bowl and mix gently on low with a hand mixer or stand mixer.
- Once it is all mixed and creamy like, then you are ready to stuff your rolls.
- Roll out the crescent rolls and, using a small rolling pin, flatten them out.
- Then add about 3-4 TBSP of the chicken mix to the center of each roll.
- Then “roll-up” your crescent roll like normal and pinch the ends and any seams so your chicken doesn’t leak out!
- Next, in a medium to small bowl, crush the corn flakes.
- In a small shallow bowl, melt the butter.
- Once the butter is melted, you will coat your chicken rolls by first rolling the crescent in the butter and then into the cornflakes.
- Place on a greased baking sheet and then bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until they start turning brown.
- Pull them out of the oven and then this is meal possibility #1 – Chicken Rolls! These make for a great lunch time version and are super tasty on their own! They are fantastic for potlucks, parties or picnics.
- But how we turn them into “million dollar chicken rolls” is by adding the SOS gravy mix! DELICIOUS!!!
To make the gravy topping:
- Add the 1 and 1/4 mix to a small sauce pan.
- Then add the milk or chicken broth and mushrooms.
- Using a whisk over medium heat, stir until the sauce thickens.
- Then ladle over the top of your chicken rolls!
Indulge and enjoy!
This is served well with a steamed veggie and green salad! It’s a perfect meal combo! The biggest problem is overeating. 🙂
Too good to resist! Yummy!!
Love to hear if you have made this and your thoughts!

This looks yummy! I wonder if it will work with crispy cereal. I have a huge box that I need to use.

I think it is definitely worth a try! It will still probably be pretty tasty, the corn flakes give it that nice southern fried taste without the frying! 🙂 But crispy rice sounds good too because the crunch is what we are also going for!

Please correct your recipe for the gravy for the million $ chicken rolls. 1and 1/4 cup of the sos mix made a total mess of way way too thick glob. I have a feeling you meant 1/4 cup! Will try that next time. The rolls were good by themselves tho.

Hello! I just wanted to ask if people have virtually any trouble together with hackers? My very last blog (wordpress) ended up being hacked along with I ended up losing numerous months of effort due to no back-up. Do you’ve any techniques to protect towards hackers? Cheers!

I will take a bite of my dessert and then let the kids lick the fork or spoon and pretend it is a whole bite for them. [ .fqkj{position:absolute;clip:rect(445px,auto,auto,488px);}approval ]
