Can I do skincare after face laser? ›

Can I use my current skincare products for recovery? Ideally, you should not use non-medical grade cosmetics during your recovery. Your skin will be extremely sensitive for weeks—or even months—after your procedure, so your best bet is to use products specifically designed for skin before and after a laser treatment.

Laser resurfacing can cause treated skin to become darker than it was before treatment (hyperpigmentation) or lighter (hypopigmentation). Permanent changes in skin color are more common in people with dark brown or Black skin. Talk with your doctor about which laser resurfacing technique reduces this risk. Scarring.

Intensive laser resurfacing—i.e. anything that requires more than a week to recover—is best suited for those in their 40s and 50s, while gentler treatments like Clear + Brilliant are best for those in their 20s or 30s.

How many laser treatments do I need for my face? ›

The number of sessions will depend on your skin quality, skin depth, and the severity of your wrinkles, acne scars, pigmented spots, and other concerns. Most patients need 3 to 4 laser skin resurfacing sessions for optimal results. But some patients also need a lot more sessions.

If you're in your 50s-60s: At this point, you want your laser skin resurfacing treatment to remove the topmost dermis layers, as that's the best way to reveal glowing skin.
